The Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association Holds

Economic Development Roundtable

Chesapeake, VA, November 13, 2025 – The Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association (HRRA) hosted an Economic Development Roundtable, bringing together economic development officials from across South Hampton Roads. This event enabled REALTOR® members to engage directly with key decision makers about the region’s business future and the essential role of housing.

“The Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association is the resource in our region for economic development because growth and future development begin in the home. Working with REALTORS® ensures that growing business in our region means ensuring housing availability for those coming here to call South Hampton Roads home,” said Jay Mitchell, HRRA’s 2025 President of the Board.

Panelists included Economic Development Directors from Chesapeake, Franklin–Southampton County, and Norfolk; the Real Estate Development Specialist from Portsmouth; the Assistant Director of Economic Development from Suffolk; and the Deputy Director from Virginia Beach. The discussion emphasized the importance of Smart Growth and housing attainability, reinforcing HRRA’s role as a key resource in shaping the region’s future.

The exchange of ideas laid a foundation for ongoing collaboration. REALTORS® are not just about selling homes—they are integral to building communities that will strengthen South Hampton Roads for generations.
